Frequently asked questions.

Does Gart work on iPhone?

Not yet. Currently we only support Android phones.

Will this work outside my country?

Yes. There are no geographic restrictions or data residency requirements.

What if I don't have internet connection?

Then the app won't function. You need to be online to be able to send an alert.

Do my contacts need the app?

Yes. App-to-app is more private than SMS or other channels. One tap to trigger an alert beats opening a chat app, dialing a number, or typing a message. In an emergency, you want something readily available.

Can anyone access my Gart app data?

No. Everything that you set up or discuss in the app is encrypted.

What about false alarms?

It's important to learn how to trigger the button. That's why Gart app has a Test Alert feature. In case you'd accidentally trigger alert, it is easy for your Watchers to follow your response protocol and verify whether yosimply're under duress or simply fatfingered the button.

Do you store or sell my private data?

No. you don't need any of those to set up Gart. No email address, no phone numbers, no names are needed. However, if you sign up to our occasional newsletter, we do store your email address for that purpose and we can't guarantee to keep it safe. To sign up to Gart newsletter, use an email you have regular access to, but not your primary email.
